A Couple Ways GFC Showed Generosity This Year

Kbarr   -

The previous blog post was about Pastor Dan’s “In it to Win It” series of messages that taught about how we can be generous. This post is to show you just a couple of ways that GFC showed their generosity in 2023.

Grace Fellowship Church has been participating in Samaritan’s Purse’s Christmas shoebox event every year for many years now. Members and regular attenders of our congregation enjoy taking a shoebox or two, and the list of suggested items for the boy or girl of the age they want to shop for, and going shopping to fill the shoebox(es). Then they bring them to the church and place them on the platform in the sanctuary, and on the last Sunday of collection, someone prays over the shoeboxes and for the boys and girls who will receive them. In the above photo, one of GFC’s elders, Steve, prays over the shoeboxes. GFC collected a little over 60 Christmas shoeboxes by the due date Sunday this year.

Above, some of the boxes are loaded to be taken where they will be collected to be shipped.

Those who filled a shoebox can go to a website later, to find out what country their shoebox(es) went to.

In addition to the Christmas shoeboxes, Grace Fellowship Church also provided Thanksgiving baskets for those who needed them in our church and in our community this year. People of our church provided items necessary for a Thanksgiving dinner and the items were placed in baskets. These Thanksgiving baskets were then given to people in the church or delivered to people in our local community to bless them with a Thanksgiving meal this year. Unfortunately, no photos were taken of the Thanksgiving baskets.
