GFC On Retreat Annual Church Picnic

Kbarr   -

On September 10, 2023, Grace Fellowship Church held their annual church picnic. But this year, things were different. The morning church service was held at the retreat center. This included a message by Pastor Dan followed by a report on changes in the lives and work of two of the missionaries GFC supports. There were over 100 people in attendance!

Following the church service, those in attendance were able to enjoy appetizers and fellowship with one another until the main meal was ready. Following the main meal, which featured barbecue chicken prepared by our very own elder, Steve, delectable desserts were available, including 4 flavors of ice cream!

After the three-course meal, attendees had the options of spending time in fellowship inside or out on comfortable rocking chairs on the porch, taking a long walk on the property, participating in friendly competition in a corn hole tournament, or enjoying an exciting downhill ride on the water slide. All of these options had several participants, and Kenny and Nate won the corn hole tournament.

Attendees reported that they liked having service at the retreat, then transitioning to the meal, then the activities. This format took better advantage of time and all of the events and activities flowed better. If you missed out on this event this year, we hope to see you there next year!
